About

Founded in 2026 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, our nonprofit was created by two queer women dedicated to uplifting and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. In a time of growing economic uncertainty across the United States, we recognize that many individuals are struggling to meet basic needs, including access to affordable food. Our mission is to provide direct financial assistance to queer individuals facing hardship, ensuring that no one has to navigate these challenges alone. Rooted in compassion, community, and resilience, we are committed to building a network of care where every person is valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

"Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we'll ever do"

Our Story

At the age of 29, my best friend was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which is a very debilitating and harsh prognosis. Through the initial process to get her medical care, her insurance denied her coverage for her infusion treatments multiple times, even though this is the main treatment plan for those with MS. This was especially disheartening because she works as a paramedic at a Level 1 Trauma hospital, and even her status as a medical professional did not grant her the ability to get her treatment. With a lack of universal healthcare in the US she has no way of getting what she needs to increase the longevity of her life and without these treatments she will die. I could not sit by any longer and wait for the world to change, so I decided to do something about it.

There is a severe lack of care for everyday people in the US, and her story is unfortunately common. Those of us who are deemed too "successful" for financial assistance from the government because we have jobs or a roof over our head does not mean that we do not need help. Most people in this country live paycheck to paycheck, and as inflation continues to rise, the ability to pay rent, bills, medical care, childcare, etc. gets harder and harder to do. Thats where we want to step in. We want to bridge the gap for financial assistance for those in the queer community that need that extra bit of help. Whether it be for rent, groceries, medical care, or otherwise; we believe everyone deserves a little help and to have the ability to live their lives to the fullest extent.

Gulnara is from Scranton, PA and works as a family attorney. Her experience working with clients that encounter housing and food insecurity, as well as her personal experience with being disowned by her own family for being queer, has inspired her to want to do more for the community. While we cannot always control the things that happen to us, we can control how we respond to it by doing good in the world.
